Ross

I believe the answer is:

bees

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'all six-footers' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are plural nouns, I can't see how one could define the other.

'brentford players' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'players' could be 'ee' (an abbreviation for a bridge player written twice) and 'ee' is located in the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for bees that I've seen before include "Buzzers" , "Four-winged insects" , "Hairy-bodied insects" , "Social workers?" , "Honey producers" .)

I've seen this clue in the Evening Standard.
