I believe the answer is:

fallen

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'dropped' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'a ps50 note in the outskirts of frinton' is the wordplay.
'a ps50' becomes 'all' (I can't explain this - if you can you should give a lot more credence to this answer).
'note' becomes 'e' (musical note).
'in the' indicates putting letters inside.
'outskirts of' says to hollow out the word (remove centre letters) (only letters on the outskirts).
'frinton' with its centre taken out is 'fn'.
'all'+'e'='alle'
'alle' inserted into 'fn' is 'FALLEN'.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for fallen that I've seen before include "ruined" , "Having sinned or surrendered" , "Pedal collapse resulting in flat feet" , "Tumbled" , "How Babylon is" .)

I've seen this clue in the Evening Standard.
