Poet, priest and where you can read about him (5)
I believe the answer is:
eliot
'poet' is the definition.
(TS Eliot)
'priest and where you can read about him' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'priest' could be 'eli' (biblical figure) and 'eli' is present in the answer.
The remaining letters 'ot' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for eliot that I've seen before include "One of two writers" , "T.S. --, poet" , "Female novelist" , "Pseudonymous writer" , "T S . . . . ., great poet of 'The Waste Land'" .)
