Quietly hiding, Silvanus perhaps turned to leave (5)
I believe the answer is:
doggo
'quietly hiding' is the definition.
'doggo' can be an answer for 'hiding' (I've seen this before). I'm unsure of the 'quietly' bit.
'silvanus perhaps turned to leave' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'leave' could be 'go' (to go is to depart or leave) and 'go' is present in the answer.
The remaining letters 'dog' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for doggo that I've seen before include "(Lie) in concealment" , "(Lie) concealed" , "out of sight" , "lying low" , "hidden away" .)
