Sportsmen with their own lines of approach (7)
I believe the answer is:
anglers
'sportsmen' is the definition.
The definition and answer can be both people as well as being plural nouns.
Maybe there's an association between them I don't understand?
'their own lines of approach' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'lines' could be 'l' (abbreviation as in lines of poetry) and 'l' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'angers' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'with' acts as a link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for anglers that I've seen before include "Fishermen" , "People fishing" .)
