State school’s violent and sudden uprising (6)
I believe the answer is:
putsch
'uprising' is the definition.
(I have seen 'Revolutionary uprising' mean 'putsch' so perhaps 'uprising' could also mean 'putsch')
'state school's violent and sudden' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'school' could be 'sch' (abbreviation) and 'sch' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'put' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for putsch that I've seen before include "Violent revolt" , "Revolutionary uprising" , "political revolt" , "Violent attempt to overthrow a government" , "Violent attempt to seize power" .)
