I believe the answer is:
ambling

(I've seen this before)
'good to be discharged' is the wordplay.
'good' becomes 'g' (abbreviation).
'to' is a charade indicator (letters next to each other) (I've seen this in other clues).
'be' becomes 'am'.
'discharged' becomes 'blin' (I can't justify this - if you can you should give a lot more credence to this answer).
'am'+'blin'='amblin'
'g' after 'amblin' is 'AMBLING'.
