Crossword Genius

About five get better in turn (5)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

curve

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'turn' is the definition.
(I know that curve is a more specific form of the action the turn)

'about five get better' is the wordplay.
'about' indicates putting letters inside.
'five' becomes 'V' (Roman numeral).
'get better' becomes 'cure' (I can't justify this - if you can you should believe this answer much more).
'v' placed into 'cure' is 'CURVE'.

'in' is the link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for curve that I've seen before include "Line that isn't straight" , "Bending line" , "Comparable in some respects" , "Not the straightforward" , "Line that's not straight" .)

I've seen this clue in The Globe and Mail.
