I believe the answer is:

operating table

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'theatre' is the definition.
The definition and answer can be both man-made objects as well as being singular nouns.
Maybe you can see a link between them that I can't see?

'acting syllabus one's found in a' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'acting' could be 'a' (abbreviation, eg in job titles) and 'a' is present in the answer.
'in' is within the answer.
'a' could be 'per' (eg 'one a day' means 'one per day') and 'per' is found in the answer.
'one' could be 'o' (I've seen this in other clues) and 'o' is found in the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for operating table that I've seen before include "Hospital theatre equipment" , "where one's out for incisive remedial action" .)

I've seen this clue in The Independent.
