Crossword Genius

Attractively styled cathedral city (6)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

cutely

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'attractively' is the definition.
Both the answer and definition are adverbs. Perhaps they are linked in a way I don't understand?

'styled cathedral city' is the wordplay.
'styled' becomes 'cut' (I can't explain this - if you can you should give a lot more credence to this answer).
'cathedral city' becomes 'ely' (English city with a cathedral).
'cut'+'ely'='CUTELY'

Can you help me to learn more?

(Another definition for cutely that I've seen is " in a rather clever way".)

I've seen this clue in the Evening Standard.
