Could clearly be seen to have arrived (6,2)
I believe the answer is:
showed up
'arrived' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)
'could clearly be seen' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'be' could be 'owe' (owing is a kind of being) and 'owe' is found within the answer.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
'to have' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for showed up that I've seen before include "Appeared" , "embarrassed" .)
