Country not out to get revolutionary support (5)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

india

'country' is the definition.
(India is an example)

'not out to get revolutionary support' is the wordplay.
'not out' becomes 'in' ('in' is the opposite to 'out').
'to get' is a charade indicator (letters next to each other).
'revolutionary' shows that the letters should be reversed in order.
'support' becomes 'aid' ('aid' can be a synonym of 'support'**).
'aid' backwards is 'dia'.
'in'+'dia'='INDIA'

(Other definitions for india that I've seen before include "Gandhi's country" , "Code for the letter I" , "One preceding Juliet" , "Bollywood's country" , "Queen Victoria considered it the Jewel in the Crown" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
