I believe the answer is:

beehive

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'coverage of the sixties' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I cannot understand how one could define the other.

'what one's following live' is the wordplay.
'what' becomes 'eh' (sound used to ask 'what?' or 'pardon?').
'one's' becomes 'ive' ('one has' can mean 'I have').
'following' means one lot of letters go next to another.
'live' becomes 'be' (synonyms).
'eh'+'ive'='ehive'
'ehive' put after 'be' is 'BEEHIVE'.

'is' is the link.

(Other definitions for beehive that I've seen before include "Home for hymenopterous species" , "Hairstyle; source of honey" , "Apian habitat" , "Enclosure where honey is first made" , "from which combs may be removed" .)

I've seen this clue in The Times.
