I cannot really understand how this works, but
'speed' could be 'mph' (miles per hour) and 'mph' is located in the answer.
'duck' could be 'o' (resembles zero - 'duck' in cricket) and 'o' is located in the answer.
A single letter 'o' remains which might be clued in a way I don't see.
