Dwelling as The Beatles were in Hamburg? (6)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

prefab

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'dwelling' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'as the beatles were in hamburg?' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'as the beatles were' could be 'fab' (the Beatles were called the Fab Four) and 'fab' is located in the answer.
The remaining letters 'pre' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for prefab that I've seen before include "Ready-made building" , "Cheap building" , "Building assembled from prepared parts" , "type of accommodation" , "Building ready made in sections" .)
