I believe the answer is:

muesli

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'foodstuff' is the definition.
The answer and definition can be both things that one consumes for nourishment as well as being singular nouns.
Maybe they are linked in a way I don't understand?

'beginning to stick in regressive part of intestine' is the wordplay.
'beginning to' indicates taking the first letters.
'in' means one lot of letters goes inside another.
'regressive' says the letters should be written in reverse (to regress is to go backwards).
'part of intestine' becomes 'ileum' (I can't justify this - if you can you should give a lot more credence to this answer).
The first letter of 'stick' is 's'.
'ileum' back-to-front is 'mueli'.
's' placed inside 'mueli' is 'MUESLI'.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for muesli that I've seen before include "Breakfast cereal mix" , "Breakfast food of cereals, dried fruit, nuts etc" , "Breakfast mixture of dry cereals and fruits" , "Breakfast dish of cereal, nuts and fruit (6)" , "Dish of dried fruit and cereals" .)

I've seen this clue in The Independent.
