Crossword Genius

Isn't confused about aim or aims (7)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

intends

'aims' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'isn't confused about aim' is the wordplay.
'confused' is an anagram indicator.
'about' is an insertion indicator.
'aim' becomes 'end' (I've seen this before).
'isnt' with letters rearranged gives 'ints'.
'ints' going around 'end' is 'INTENDS'.

'or' is the link.

(Other definitions for intends that I've seen before include "Aims" , "Has as a purpose" , "Plans, means" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
