Crossword Genius

Land in the water (4)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

isle

I believe this clue is a double definition.

'land' is the first definition.
(I know that island is a type of land)

'in the water' is the second definition.
(I've seen this before)

(Other definitions for isle that I've seen before include "Dogs, for example" , "somewhere surrounded by water" , "being impossible without water" , "'There is an ..., a bonny ...' (rugby anthem in the South)" , "Insular place" .)

I've seen this clue in the Evening Standard, The Daily Mail, the LA Times and The Globe and Mail.
