Crossword Genius

Medicinal plant, originally at £50 topping list, we're told (7)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

allheal

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'medicinal plant' is the definition.
(plant used as medicine)

'ps50 topping list we're told' is the wordplay.
'ps50' becomes 'all' (I can't justify this - if you can you should believe this answer much more).
'topping' says to put letters next to each other.
'list' becomes 'heel' (both can mean to lean or tilt).
'we're told' shows a homophone (sound like).
'heel' sounds like 'heal'.
'all'+'heal'='ALLHEAL'

'originally at' is the link.
I am not very happy about this link. Some or all of it may be part of another bit of the clue.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for allheal that I've seen before include "Plant regarded as panacea" , "Valerian, perhaps" .)

I've seen this clue in The Guardian.
