Crossword Genius

Moving faster, attack from the air (6)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

strafe

'attack from the air' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'moving faster' is the wordplay.
'moving' indicates anagramming the letters.
'faster' with letters rearranged gives 'STRAFE'.

(Other definitions for strafe that I've seen before include "Fire from the air with machine guns" , "Attack from the air with machine guns" , "Attack with machine guns or cannon from a low-flying plane" , "Attack from low-flying aircraft" , "bombing raid" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
