Crossword Genius

One day with awful mites around 'ouse? (8)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

sometime

'one day' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'awful mites around 'ouse?' is the wordplay.
'awful' is an anagram indicator.
'around' is an insertion indicator.
''ouse?' becomes 'ome' ('home' - homing is a kind of housing - said with a cockney accent, dropping the 'H', like 'house' was).
'mites' anagrammed gives 'stime'.
'stime' enclosing 'ome' is 'SOMETIME'.

'with' is the link.

(Other definitions for sometime that I've seen before include "ex?" , "An indeterminate date in the future" , "On an undetermined date in the future" , "Former; occasional (US)" , "On a future unnamed occasion" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
