lion cub

'with pride?' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I can't see how they can define each other.

'over in pound you see number one son going' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'over' could be 'on' (physically on top of) and 'on' is found in the answer.
'pound' could be 'l' and 'l' is found in the answer.
'you' could be 'u' (I've seen this in other clues) and 'u' is found within the answer.
'see' could be 'c' (the word for the letter, according to Chambers) and 'c' is located in the answer.
'number' could be 'i' (I is an example) and 'i' is found in the answer.
A single letter 'b' remains which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This may be the basis of clue (or it may be nonsense).

'about' acts as a link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for lion cub that I've seen before include "Young mauler" , "beastly prince?" , "Young pride member" , "Elsa's offspring possibly (Born Free)" , "Baby feline" .)

I've seen this clue in The Independent.
