Pictures, I see, from the sciences (6)
I believe the answer is:
scenes
'pictures' is the definition.
('scene' can be a synonym of 'picture')
'i see from the sciences' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'see' could be 'c' (the word for the letter, according to Chambers) and 'c' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'senes' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for scenes that I've seen before include "Landscapes" , "Subdivisons of a play" , "Public rows or pleasant vistas" , "Dramatic subdivisions" , "Excerpts from a film - or aggressive outbursts" .)
