Scientist suspending oxygen and hydrogen in bromine (4)
I believe the answer is:
bohr
'scientist' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'oxygen and hydrogen in bromine' is the wordplay.
'oxygen' becomes 'O' (atomic symbol for oxygen).
'and' says to put letters next to each other.
'hydrogen' becomes 'H' (H is the chemical symbol for hydrogen).
'in' means one lot of letters goes inside another.
'bromine' becomes 'Br' (Br is the chemical symbol for bromine).
'o'+'h'='oh'
'oh' going within 'br' is 'BOHR'.
'suspending' is the link.
I am not very happy about this link. It may be part of another bit of the clue.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for bohr that I've seen before include "Niels -, Danish Nobel physicist" , "scientist" , "Danish Nobel-winning physicist (father or son)" .)
