Soap, perhaps, for Mr Bloggs (3)
I believe the answer is:
joe
'bloggs' is the definition.
(as in Joe Bloggs, term for an average man)
'soap perhaps for mr' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'mr' could be 'jo' and 'jo' is present in the answer.
A single letter 'e' remains which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for joe that I've seen before include "Boy's name" , "-- Bloggs, ordinary man" , "Short for Joseph" , "- Bloggs; - Public" , "-- Orton, playwright" .)
