Crossword Genius

Sweltering Celt taking off jacket in tourist accommodation (5)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

hotel

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'tourist accommodation' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)

'sweltering celt taking off jacket' is the wordplay.
'sweltering celt' becomes 'hel' (I can't explain this - if you can you should believe this answer much more).
'taking' is an insertion indicator.
'off' becomes 'out' (both can mean wrong or inaccurate).
'jacket' says to hollow out the word (remove centre letters) (the letters worn by the word as a 'jacket' are use).
'out' with its middle removed is 'ot'.
'hel' going around 'ot' is 'HOTEL'.

'in' acts as a link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for hotel that I've seen before include "Somewhere to stay" , "Letter of the alphabet" , "offering accommodation" , "Holiday venue" , "Eg, Savoy, Ritz" .)

I've seen this clue in The Guardian.
