Very high trail by European circular path (8)
I believe the answer is:
towering
'very high' is the definition.
'towering' can be an answer for 'high' (similar in meaning). I'm unsure of the 'very' bit.
'trail by european circular path' is the wordplay.
'trail' becomes 'tow' (both can mean to drag).
'by' says to put letters next to each other.
'european' becomes 'E' (abbreviation e.g. EU).
'circular path' becomes 'ring' (I can't justify this - if you can you should believe this answer much more).
'tow'+'e'+'ring'='TOWERING'
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for towering that I've seen before include "Very tall" , "Magnificent" , "Grew into (anag.)" , "I get worn (anag)" , "Very intense (rage)" .)
