Ross

I believe the answer is:

raven

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'bird?' is the definition.
(raven is a kind of bird)

'be a very hungry' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'a' is present in the answer.
'very' could be 'v' (abbreviation) and 'v' is located in the answer.
The remaining letters 'ren' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for raven that I've seen before include "flesh-eating bird" , "Type of crow" , "Bird of ill omen" , "Bird with hoarse, croaking cry" , "Species of crow" .)

I've seen this clue in The Irish News.
