Crossword Genius

Ross

I believe the answer is:

cube

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'three-dimensional figure' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'seabiscuit removed as it is' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'it' could be 'e' ('e' can mean 'electronic' which is similar to 'IT') and 'e' is found within the answer.
The remaining letters 'cub' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...

'of' acts as a link.

(Other definitions for cube that I've seen before include "Three-dimensional shape with six sides" , "Lump of sugar" , "Hexagonal ice" , "Six-sided body" , "Hexahedron with six plane faces" .)

I've seen this clue in The Irish Times.
