Crossword Genius

A court follows former lover's demand (5)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

exact

'demand' is the definition.
(I know that exact is a more specific form of demand)

'a court follows former lover's' is the wordplay.
'court' becomes 'ct' (abbreviation used in road names).
'follows' says to put letters next to each other.
'former lover' becomes 'ex' (an ex-lover).
'a'+'ct'='act'
'act' put after 'ex' is 'EXACT'.

(Other definitions for exact that I've seen before include "On the nail" , "Precisely correct" , "Explicit" , "Finished" , "Call" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
