Anxious having succeeded getting promotion into cushy job (8)

I believe the answer is:

sinecure

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'cushy job' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'anxious having succeeded getting promotion into' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'succeeded' could be 's' (genealogical abbreviation) and 's' is found within the answer.
'into' could be 'in' and 'in' is present in the answer.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for sinecure that I've seen before include "An office without work." , "Office that involves minimal duties" , "Soft job, may be insecure" , "Post requiring little work" , "A job that pays well for little work" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
