Crossword Genius

Be absorbed with crime, and blood? (4,2)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

sink in

'be absorbed' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'crime and blood?' is the wordplay.
'crime' becomes 'sin'.
'and' is a charade indicator (letters next to each other).
'blood?' becomes 'kin' (both can mean one's family).
'sin'+'kin'='SINK IN'

'with' is the link.

(Other definitions for sink in that I've seen before include "(Of facts) become fully understood" , "Register" , "(Of words) become fully understood" , "Get through" , "Penetrate, become understood" .)

I've seen this clue in The Times.
