'Bottle' stars Moore and Travolta (8)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

demijohn

'bottle stars' is the definition.
'demijohn' can be an answer for 'bottle' (I've seen this before). I'm not sure about the 'stars' bit.

'moore and travolta' is the wordplay.
'moore' becomes 'demi' (Demi Moore).
'and' says to put letters next to each other.
'travolta' becomes 'john' (I can't justify this - if you can you should believe this answer much more).
'demi'+'john'='DEMIJOHN'

(Other definitions for demijohn that I've seen before include "Large bottle for half-Jack?" , "Large bottle, often in wicker case" , "Large bottle with two handles for wine" , "Large bulbous bottle (with wicker cover?)" , "Large, small-handled bottle" .)
