Crossword Genius

Bound to get back a little more time (4,6)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

leap second

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'a little more time' is the definition.
'leap second' can be an answer for 'time' (I have seen 'extra time' mean 'leap second' so perhaps 'time' could also mean 'leap second'). I am not certain of the 'a little more' bit.

'bound to get back' is the wordplay.
'bound' becomes 'leap' (synonyms).
'to get' says to put letters next to each other.
'back' becomes 'second' (both can mean to support an idea or proposal).
'leap'+'second'='LEAP SECOND'

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for leap second that I've seen before include "Calendar adjustment" , "Time correction" , "brief period of extra time" , "Time-keeping adjustment" .)

I've seen this clue in The Sunday Times.
