Crossword Genius

‘Bump’ dance wearing plastic fedora (10)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

freeloader

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'bump' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I cannot see how they can define each other.

'dance wearing plastic fedora' is the wordplay.
'dance' becomes 'reel' (reel is a kind of dance).
'wearing' means one lot of letters goes inside another.
'plastic' indicates anagramming the letters (plastic can mean easily moulded).
'fedora' anagrammed gives 'foader'.
'reel' put within 'foader' is 'FREELOADER'.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for freeloader that I've seen before include "I'm a sucker" , "One who gains from others' efforts" , "Skinflint, say" , "Sponger (informal)" , "One who takes but never gives" .)

I've seen this clue in the Sydney Morning Herald.
