Ross

I believe the answer is:

crib

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

I believe this is a quadruple definition!!

'card' is the first definition.
(I know that crib is a type of playing card)

'game' is the second definition.
(crib is a kind of game)

'nap' is the third definition.
The answer and definition can be both acts as well as being singular nouns.
Maybe they are linked in a way I don't understand?

'taking' is a link.

'place here?' is the fourth definition.
'crib' can be an answer for 'place' (thesaurus). I am not sure about the 'here?' bit.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for crib that I've seen before include "Copy without acknowledgement" , "Nativity model" , "Copy someone else's work" , "Nativity scene; copy illicitly" , "Steal the work" .)

I've seen this clue in The Times.
