Maybe they are linked in a way I don't understand?

I cannot really see how this works, but
'judge' could be 'critic' (critic is a kind of judge) and 'critic' is found within the answer.
'message' could be 'sm' (SM is an example) and 'sm' is found in the answer.
'way' could be 's' (Compass direction - South) and 's' is present in the answer.
A single letter 'i' remains which might be clued in a way I don't see.
