I believe the answer is:

crick

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'a pain in the neck' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)

'credit check ignoring capital' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'credit' could be 'cr' (abbreviation) and 'cr' is located in the answer.
The remaining letters 'ick' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...

'is' is the link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for crick that I've seen before include "Muscle spasm in the neck" , "Twist" , "Wrench (neck or back)" , "Pain in the neck" , "Neck injury" .)
