Crossword Genius

Dishes from large part of the world (5)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

china

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'dishes' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)

'large part of the world' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'part' could be 'chin' (chin is a kind of part) and 'chin' is located in the answer.
A single letter 'a' remains which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).

'from' is the link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for china that I've seen before include "Asian country" , "Oriental country" , "Mate (Cockney rhyming slang)" , "Ceramics; friend" , "Hi, can you make porcelain here?" .)

I've seen this clue in The Times.
