I believe the answer is:

green woodpecker

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'drummer's daughter' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I cannot understand how they can define each other.

'given kiss when naive suitor's around?' is the wordplay.
'given kiss when' becomes 'dpeck' (I can't explain this - if you can you should give a lot more credence to this answer).
'naive' becomes 'green' (similar in meaning).
'suitor' becomes 'wooer' (synonyms).
'around?' is an insertion indicator.
'green'+'wooer'='greenwooer'
'dpeck' placed into 'greenwooer' is 'GREEN WOODPECKER'.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Another definition for green woodpecker that I've seen is " flyer".)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
