Going to the hotel somewhat of a routine? (5)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

habit

'a routine?' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'going to the hotel somewhat' is the wordplay.
'going to' is a charade indicator (letters next to each other).
'the hotel' becomes 'h' (phonetic alphabet: alpha, bravo, charlie etc.).
'somewhat' becomes 'abit' (a bit).
'h'+'abit' is 'HABIT'.

'of' is the link.

(Other definitions for habit that I've seen before include "Usual practice; garment" , "Custom; clothing" , "Monk's robe or repetitive action" , "Custom or monk's robe" , "Acquired pattern of behaviour" .)

I've seen this clue in the Sydney Morning Herald.
