Group of stars possibly taking a share (6)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

plough

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'group of stars' is the definition.
'plough' can be an answer for 'stars' (I've seen this before). I'm not sure about the 'group of' bit.

I don't understand how the rest of the clue works.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for plough that I've seen before include "Farming implement; constellation" , "break new ground, perhaps" , "Cultivate" , "Harrow?" , "Farm tool and star formation" .)

I've seen this clue in the Evening Standard.
