Hungry for a little kiss? (7)
I believe the answer is:
peckish
'hungry' is the definition.
(similar in meaning)
'little kiss?' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'kiss?' could be 'peck' (pecking is a kind of kissing) and 'peck' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'ish' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'for a' acts as a link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for peckish that I've seen before include "Informally hungry - like a bird?" , "Somewhat hungry" , "Rather hungry (colloq.)" , "A bit hungry like bird?" , "Feeling slightly hungry" .)
