Crossword Genius

I'm raised in easy-to-manage home (8)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

domicile

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'home' is the definition.
(I know that home can be written as domicile)

'i'm raised in easy-to-manage' is the wordplay.
'raised' says the letters should be written backwards (going up in a down clue).
'in' is an insertion indicator.
'easy-to-manage' becomes 'docile' (I can't explain this - if you can you should believe this answer much more).
'im' in reverse letter order is 'mi'.
'mi' placed into 'docile' is 'DOMICILE'.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for domicile that I've seen before include "Place of residence, abode" , "A person's place of residence" , "Dwelling" , "Legal place of residence" , "One's permanent residence" .)

I've seen this clue in The Sun.
