Crossword Genius

Implant at home and fix in the garden (5)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

inset

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'implant' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'home and fix in the garden' is the wordplay.
'home' becomes 'in' ('he's home' can mean 'he's in').
'and' means one lot of letters go next to another.
'fix in the garden' becomes 'set' (I am not sure about this - if you are sure you should believe this answer much more).
'in'+'set'='INSET'

'at' is the link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for inset that I've seen before include "subsidiary diagram" , "Picture inside a larger one" , "Minor figure" , "Tines (anag.)" , "one image within another" .)

I've seen this clue in The Irish News.
