Crossword Genius

In my judgement, nothing will hold it down (7)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

opinion

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'in' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I can't understand how they can define each other.

'my judgement nothing will hold it down' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'nothing' could be 'o' (looks like zero - 0) and 'o' is found in the answer.
'hold' could be 'pinion' (pinioning is a kind of holding) and 'pinion' is located in the answer.
This accounts for all the letters.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for opinion that I've seen before include "Estimation" , "'Judgment, view (7)'" , "impression" , "View, judgement" , "View held without positive proof" .)

I've seen this clue in the Evening Standard.
