I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'oblique insinuation' is the definition.
'innuendo' can be an answer for 'insinuation' (synonyms). I'm not sure about the 'oblique' bit.

'in university there's no end sadly' is the wordplay.
'university' becomes 'U' (abbreviation for university).
'there's' says to put letters next to each other.
'sadly' indicates anagramming the letters.
'u'+'no'+'end'='unoend'
'unoend' anagrammed gives 'nuendo'.
'in'+'nuendo'='INNUENDO'

'of' is the link.
