Incorporate space by taking in odd edges (6)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

embody

'incorporate' is the definition.
(both can mean to give physical form)

'space by taking in odd edges' is the wordplay.
'space' becomes 'em' (in typography, a space as wide as a letter 'm').
'taking in' means one lot of letters goes inside another.
'edges' suggests removing the centre (I've seen 'edging' mean this (edging means the letters on the edges)).
'odd' with its middle removed is 'od'.
'by' going around 'od' is 'body'.
'em'+'body'='EMBODY'

(Other definitions for embody that I've seen before include "concretise" , "Express concretely - personify" , "Represent in tangible form" , "Contain within oneself, incorporate" , "Express ideas in visible or tangible form" .)

I've seen this clue in The Times.
