Crossword Genius

Jumps up some water sources (7)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

springs

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

This might be a double definition.

'jumps up' is the first definition.
(I've seen this before)

'some water sources' is the second definition.
'springs' can be an answer for 'sources' (spring is a kind of source). I'm not certain of the 'some water' bit.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for springs that I've seen before include "Elastic metal coils" , "Jumps; metal coils" , "what might be after Alice?" , "Natural flows of ground water" .)

I've seen this clue in the Sydney Morning Herald.
