Crossword Genius

Lonely heart used weary time for resolution (3,4)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

new year

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'time for resolution' is the definition.
'new year' can be an answer for 'time' (I have seen 'Time of Epiphany' mean 'new year' so perhaps 'time' could also mean 'new year'). I'm not sure about the 'for resolution' bit.

'lonely heart used weary' is the wordplay.
'heart' says to take the centre.
'used' indicates an anagram.
The middle letters of 'lonely' are 'ne'.
'weary' with letters rearranged gives 'wyear'.
'ne'+'wyear'='NEW YEAR'

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for new year that I've seen before include "Resolve now" , "Time for resolutions?" , "It's a week after Christmas" , "This is only five days old" , "January 1st" .)

I've seen this clue in the Sydney Morning Herald.
